4 buttons on Analog 0 with wave shield

Ok, so I'm trying to play one of 4 different sound files with the use of the Wave shield. I'm using a resistor ladder so all 4 buttons are wired in through Analog 0. My problem is that when a sound file is played, the board stops reading the input until the sound file is complete. When I use the serial monitor I can see that the board stops reading the resistance level while the "playfile("1.wav");" is executed. How can I make it so it is like the single key once example?

You need to update the analog value while the .wav file is playing:
