Wave Shield and Arduino Mega: how-to

Download wavehc20101009.zip from http://code.google.com/p/wavehc/downloads/list.

Install the WaveHC folder in your libraries folder.

Do not edit or add any files to the WaveHC folder.

Add the four jumper wires from the Wave Shield to Mega pins 50 - 53.

Try the daphc.pde example.

Thank you for the once over. All I was missing was the jumpers to the correct pins.
Do I need to cut the pins that go between the Arduino and the WaveShield 11,12,13? seems to work fine with them connected.
As long as I don't make them an output is it OK to leave them or should they be cut for a safety consideration?

Quick question - does your current version of the lib include the modified DAC you mentioned to support 44.1Hz?

It has the 44.1k DAC code but it may not run fast enough on a Mega. Some instructions run slower on the Mega since it uses longer addresses.

could you be more specific please?

From where on the waveshield do these jumpers go? You only say where they should go on the Mega.

Do I modify the ones that are already there, or do I add new ones from other pins?

I wanted to thank you both for your contributions to the community! The WaveHC library is awesome.

I also want to thank gregsadetsky for figuring out the Mega problem with SPI down on the lower pins, and for a Great description with pictures as to how to hack it. Bravo!

I did not have to cut the header pins 11-13, simply re-mapping the wires to the 50-53 pins works like a charm!

I actually like this hack as it moves the Wave shield completely out of the pin range of the Ethernet shield - both of which I have working together now because of it.
