I have the GPS working, but I consistently get init.failed errors.
After more than enough googling around all I know is that I am looking at what the code thinks is a hardware error.
Now, I admit this is not my best solder job, but I don't think I have anything is unusable.
However, here are some links to photos of the shield assembled for critique.

(The others exist they just aren't that clear)
My only theory at this point, which I admit I didn't google as thorougly, is that the SD card I am using is somehow not compatible.
PNY Optima, SD (HC) 4GB
I formatted it Fat in Win7, and formatted it Fat16 via Ubuntu. I Even tried making a partition of 512MB. I always got the init.failed error.
Hopefully that's enough information to go on for now. Thanks in advance!

Re: Card init.failed! (Suggestions/Help requested!)
The camera on my phone isn't happy with the lighting, and doesn't want to focus on the right parts for me, sorry.
Try this one, It is after I went back and tried to clean up the 125 as best as I could. The tip on my soldering iron is a little wider than I would like, and I've been to cheap to look for a replacement since it has worked thus far.
I still get init.failed
I am going to go out and see if I can't find an SD card that isn't high capacity, and I'll see where things go from there.

OK, I have acquired a couple older chips (128 MB and 256 MB) and they both work fine.
File writes to card, and everything is completely functional now.
Thanks for the help!
