Frequency response of Wave Shield?

Post by btjphoto »

Hi,

I want to use the Arduino and Wave Shield as a source to feed extremely low tones created by a tone generator, saved as .wav files, to a powered, amplified sub-woofer capable of a 15-20Hz low end. Will I be able to do this with the .wav file on the shield's SD card? What low and high range frequency response can I realistically expect?

Thanks

You should not have a problem reproducing a low frequency signal. The high frequencies will be limited by the sample rate. Ar 22KHz sample rate, the maximum theoretical frequency would be 11KHz. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyquist_frequency
