Do I have to solder the Wave Shield soldering to Arduino ?

Post by virtualbrooklyn »

Hi,

I am trying to make the Wave Shield work. Have all the soldering done and put it together. I have it sitting on the Arduino Uno without soldering it. Do I need to solder it in order to work? I am getting the SD I/0 error when I run the daphc sketch from Wave_HC library.

Wave test!
Free RAM: 672
Error: Card init. failed!
SD I/O error: 1, 0

I formatted it following the instructions in the forum running the line command from terminal on a mac.

I am attaching pictures of the shield in case I am missing something. Thanks for the help.

Yes. You will need to solder the headers and all the jumpers for it to work. You only solder the headers to the shield. It will still be removable from the Arduino.
