GPS shield - do I need to remove chip from the Arduino?

Post by virtualbrooklyn »

I am done assembling the GPS shield. But when I place it on top of the Arduino (I am using the Arduino Uno), the memory card on the shield touches the ATMega chip on the arduino, and the pins don't go through all the way. I saw somewhere that the chip had to be removed from the arduino, but I don't see anything on your instructions. Is that the way is supposed to be? Maybe I am missing something.

Thanks

There is no need to remove the chip.
