Post clear photos - front & back of your shield and we'll take a look.

Double check the soldering on the SD card holder. Photos can be deceiving, but pins 3, 4 and 6 (from the top) look a little suspect.

Pint 10-13 are use for SPI communication with the SD card through the buffer (IC4), so look closely at those joints too. The pin-10 jumper looks like it could possibly have a cold joint.

Wave errors 1, 0

Postby Mack6225 » Mon Nov 26, 2012 10:39 pm

I didn’t think I had any anomalies in this project; however I followed your suggestions and for good measure I touched each & every solder joint. I have different errors:
Wave test!
Free RAN: 672
Error: Card init. failed!
SD I/O error: 1, 0

Thanks for your help!

Try running the 'cardinfo' sketch from the SD library. That might give you a little more diagnostic detail.

The software does'nt see the card (several cards). I tend to get frustrated after working on a project for longer than I’d like. I’m going to put the wave on a shelf for a while. Thanks for your help
