I'm starting a datalogger project to record suspension position on my dirtbike and looking for the right DIY platform.
From what I've found and read the Arduino with the Ultimate GPS logger could be a good pick, however, there are a few critical questions that I've yet to be able to find an answer to.
My goal is to be able to log at least 2x analog channels that will have position sensors on them, plus the GPS position.
What is the max logging rate to the SD card for the GPS logger, it looks like 5 or 10hz is feasible?
Does the Ultimate GPS logger shield support logging additional analog inputs to the SD card too? If so how many and what rate can the inputs be logged at? Ideally I would like to log at ~500hz+ for the analog inputs. All I've been able to find on people using the Arduino and logging to a SD card has been at slower rates such as 1 or 5hz.
Any help on the subject would be great!

Re: Data Acquisition Rate
Maximum logging rate for GPS data depends on the module. The Ultimate GPS module does 10 Hz.
The logger it self is capable of recording at up to 100 Ksps. http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.ph ... 7&p=153175
There is no fixed file format, so you can mix any combination of analog and GPS data.

Re: Data Acquisition Rate
Thank you for the response. I'm going to give it a try. I'll likely have some more posts in the near future when I'm trying to get everything up and running.
I was also planning on experimenting with the Labview tools that I've seen to interface with the Arduino. Will any of those tools interface with the GPS shield?

Re: Data Acquisition Rate
Sorry. I don't have any experience with those tools from LabView.
