buildtest and CC3000 breakout

Post by Lasereyesurgery »

My CC3000's have just arrived and I'm having an odd problem out of the box.
When I run buildtest (using my wifi router settings) I only see nonsense in the serial monitor. Such as:

BANNED’H1¦ÜÖ*„þ]$(|9Ð BANNED•g"¢ÞÊ (R2H`š°&BANNED%Oh–%x–E`0‚Ó^ِHpøÂ|¼³9‹È„

My connections seem fine, have I missed something obvious?

Also, is it only the very new CC3000's that support hw SPI sharing with other devices (i.e. displays)? If so, when were they released as mine just might be before these came out?

Thanks

That looks like baudrate mismatch gibberish.

Double-check your Serial monitor to make sure it matches the value in the 'Serial.begin()' line in 'setup()'.
