Audio Amplifier Max9744

Post by jkanzaki »

Hello,

Just a thought about the Audio Amplifier Max9744. Currently to change from digital to analog, I would need to solder the AD1 and AD2 pad toghether.
I find it frustrating and inconvenient. I would like to change between the two mode all the time. It would be very nice to change two pin and placing a jumper it will close the connection for AD1 and AD2.

Personally, I wouldn't mind paying a extra dollar or two for this feature. :)
Just a suggestion.

Thank you.

I'll pass that along to the products team.

In the meantime, you can solder a couple pieces of 30 gauge wire to the pads, then connect the other ends of the wire to some pin header. That will give you a connection you can bridge with a jumper.

You could also solder the pin header directly to the pads on the PCB, but I've ripped the pads off of many PCBs that way. You really want a through-hole to support the mechanical force of a pin.

your second suggestion is a good one (given the current design of the board).

Thank you :)
