Question about LCD Shield (I2C)

Post by scottmurchison »

I like these shields because they only need the two I2C lines. My question is about using other pins on my Arduino UNO when the shield is plugged in. When I built the shield kit (product 772), I soldered in a complete set of header pins. It plugs into my UNO. My questions is does this shield interfere with the digital pins or analog pins 1-3?

Actually all the pins should be available since you can add more i2c devices as long as they have a unique address.

Only UNO analog 4&5 are used and then as franklin points out, you can connect multiple I2C devices so you don't really lose much. But obviously you can't use them for other thing besides I2c (captain obvious here). But the rest of the pins are clear for use.
