X-Bee with Motor Shield v1.0

Post by moonchuck »

Sorry for the what is probably a stupid question but after some browsing of the forums this is not totally clear to me...

Does the motor shield rely on pins 0 and 1? Am I able to solder wires on top of the shield to use these pins with an X-Bee?

If not, am I able to use other pins available on the motor shield for tx/rx with X-Bee?

Any examples/resources would be really helpful.

The V1 shield does not use these pins. You should have no problem using them for an XBee serial connection.

0 and 1 are not used by the motor shield and are available for the xbee but be aware these pins are used to program the Arduino UNO and you may find using other pins with software serial would work better. If you give us more insight on your project perhaps we could be more specific.
