Motor shield not working

Post by ahmedswift »

I ordered a Motor shield but I can't seem to get it to work. I soldered the stacking headers, and had another hobbyist check my solder joints.
When connected to a Mega 2560 and a separate power supply, I got the green power light on the shield and all the Mega indicators, however I could not get any of the 4 ports to drive a small hobby motor.
Other shields works with this Mega.

Is there anything special I need to do to use the V2 motor shield with a Mega?

If you post photos showing your soldering on the board we'll check to make sure all that is OK. Also, let us know what kinds of motors you are using and what power supply.

If you are using an older Mega (prior to R3), you will need jumpers as described here. https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-shi ... -shield-v2
