I saw there was another post with someone having the same problem. The error is:

I'm going to assume the problem is with my soldering since I didn't do a very good job at all. But here is a top and bottom picture of the kit.

I think the soldering looks okay.
It looks like some of the resistors have different values than those listed in the parts list. I've left out the gold band from the colour codes.
I suggest replacing the resistors with correct values and trying again. I'm not sure if any damage will have been caused to the other components. Someone with a better understanding of the circuit may be able to advise.

- R1 - Should be a 1M (Brown Black Green) you have 1.5k (Brown Green Red)
R2 - Should be 1.0K (Brown Black Red) you have 1.5k (Brown Green Red)
R3, R4, R5 and R6 - Correct 10K
R7 and R8 - Should be 1.0K (Brown Black Red) you have 1.5k (Brown Green Red)
