Adafruid Xbee vs ...

Post by Xach »

Hey everyone,
I was thinking of purchasing an arduino-zigbee setup and had the following question:

from http://www.ladyada.net/make/xbee/

"I wanted to make a wireless Arduino project but all the adapter boards on the market made me unhappy. So I designed what I think is an excellent low-cost adapter board."

is this just because of the form factor? what was it that you found unsatisfactory about the other Xbee shields out there (such as the one on sparkfun) and how is the the one from adafruit better?

thanks in advance,

Xach

Price and the fact that LadyAda made it were my deceiding factors.

i didnt like how the other ones available wouldnt plug into a breadboard nicely. like the sparkfun one, it sits flat so you cant get to the wires underneath :( and then others didnt have level shifting or a 3v supply.
