I would very much like to use the experience gained from the Tweet-a-Watt project to develop a cheap-open source-computerless system for logging data from a wind turbine.

xbee pro + opkg on Asus router + python + Google App Engine + Google gadget + Google Site = Cheap online data logging and display for Zigbee 2.0 enabled Skystream 3.7 wind turbine without a computer.
Thus far, Labview has been used by Southwest Windpower to develop SkyView 2.0 which works well on a Windows computer that's always on. Idaho National Laboratories has developed a JAVA based alternative which allows the data to be viewed online but still requires a computer running an Appache server.
Please comment on whether or not you feel this has merit and can assist in any way.
Thanks,
