This project is very intriguing to me, but I live in a two-story house plus a basement, and I want to do power monitoring on all three levels. I'm wondering if the low power XBee module used in the TAW project has enough range for my house - heck there are places in it where my laptop's wireless connection is out of range of our wireless AP.
What are your experiences range-wise?
BTW one of the things that originally intrigued me about the Zig/XBee hardware is its mesh network potential - but if I'm reading another thread here correctly, the current TAW XBee code is not running the XBee in "mesh" mode. Is that correct?
thanks,
Dave.

the range seems to be 50-100ft not going through floors

Mine won't go 50 ft. when the front door is open, which is made of solid wood. I've gone so far as to get the Xbee with the external antenna, which helps a little, but not much.
