xBee Low Power - anybody get it working?

Post by tampa_poet »

Hello All.

I"m trying to get a xBee to go into low power mode. I'm using an xBee Series 1 and the Adafruit xBee Adapter. I'm trying to set my xBee in Pin Mode Sleep (Sleep Mode = 1 (ATSM=1). I used X-CTU to change the parameters on the xBee.

Using a voltage divider (to step the voltage down from 5v to 3v), I wired up digital pin 9 on my Arduino to pin 9 on the xBee.

To put the xBee into sleep, I'm supposed to assert pin 9. To wake it, I pull the pin low.

Using an ohm meter, I don't see any change in the power draw change between the two states. Also, the green light keeps flashing the whole time. I am assuming the green light will go out when the xBee is put in low power mode.

Any thoughts? I'm kinda at my wits end on this one!

Thanks!
