One of the first things a potential user wants to know when they are researching an RF module is "what is the approximate range"? I can't seem to find any info about that on the XBee module page, even though there's a mention how the new antenna has "50% more range".
I also realize that range depends on many factors. But still, as a ballpark estimate, what range should I expect from the XB module in P2P mode? (between two devices both using the XBee module)
range of XBee Module - Series 01 - XB24-AWI-001

Yup, and the wire antenna on this module is usually the best choice for all-around RF performance. The distances stated on the specifications sheet are what I typically see in practice. Remember that range is always a function of signal-to-noise so the local radio environment plays a large factor in what you can expect. Test, test, test.
