XBee adapter kit + Arduino Pro Mini

Post by Rushwind »

I'm trying to build a compact Xbee + Arduino circuit.

I just want to confirm that I've got the pinouts correct; if I want to connect the Adafruit XBee adapter (which can connect to the FTDI Friend or cable) to the Arduino Pro Mini (which can also connect to the FTDI Friend or cable), I can't just "stack" the two, soldering in a row of headers to each; I need to cross over TX and RX, requiring some small adapter, right? As near as I can tell, the other pins (VCC and GND) line up properly (as long as the boards are mount "back to back").

Maybe I can construct a "null modem" with a 2-row female header.

What do you think?

Just run some jumpers on a breadboard or directly to test your theory but I think it will work OK.
