xbee antenna

can the xbee antenna bend 90 degrees? My xbee shield is below a motor shield. I would like to upgrade from the pcb antenna to the wire antenna to get better reception.

The wire antenna will bend, but close proximity to the PCB above will not result in optimal performance. You might want to consider one of the external antenna options from Digi: http://www.digi.com/support/kbase/kbaseresultdetl?id=2167
