Using batteries to power Xbee?

Post by xbee_xplorer »

Hello! :D

I have been working with six of your kits to make a star topology in my house to measure power consumption in my electrodomestics  , but i was wondering, is there any trouble if i modify the circuit to be able to power the xbee with a 9V battery?, i know that in order to make the xbee's ADC work properly i will need to connect the xbee's ground to the LM2902's ground... that might be a problem since now the xbee will be powered with the battery? :?

Thanks in advance :D

Not sure what else you have in your circuit, but the xbee itself is a 3.3v device. If you are going to go with batteries, you might consider lithium cells in that voltage range so you won't need a voltage regulator.
