Tweet-A-Watt success with 2012 Kill-A-Watt?

Hello - I'm about to embark on the Tweet-A-Watt project and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done the project on a 2012 manufactured Kill-A-Watt (K-A-W). I've looked through previous threads but I couldn't tell if anyone with a more recent K-A-W had succeeded. My board shows "1225" which I presume means 25th week of 2012?

Is this similar to anyone else who completed the project?

I'm trying to determine if I'll be able to solder to the appropriate IC ok and if there is room inside for the XBee and the big capacitor.

I followed up in the viewtopic.php?f=40&t=11009

(I found that I have to remove the XBee to let the big cap charge and then place it back on the adapter and it works... still need to figure out a long-term [and safer!] solution)

Have you tried changing the timing of the sleep cycle or changing the size of the cap? I believe both have been recommended as things to try in this situation.

thanks for the tip... turns out it was just my fault - I had the cathode of the cap soldered into the wrong hole. After correcting, it's all working correctly. I just need to figure out how to stuff it all inside.
