Xbee on Flora?

Post by mmoretti »

Hi,

Accordion to the Digi data sheet, the Xbee (without the Adafruit adapter) runs on 3.3v, and with the adapter runs on 5v. Is it possible to use the Xbee with the Flora? I've tried hooking it up both with and without the adapter and using the TX/RX, 3.3v and GND pins on the Flora with no luck (I send it AT commands and get nothing back). Maybe there's something I'm doing wrong? It works great when I plug it into my PC via FTDI usb. I can't seem to get it working with my Arduino Uno R3 either. I made sure to connect RX to TX and TX to RX from the Flora to the Xbee (and I even tried reversing them).

For Flora, I was using the basic echo test from here: http://learn.adafruit.com/flora-wearabl ... gram-flora

I was doing something similar with the Uno but using SoftwareSerial and Pins 2 and 3 (and I tried reversing them too with no luck).

Thanks!

For what it is worth, I have been fighting the same issue for over a month
(http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=38813). All I want to
do is pass two integer values from one Flora to another via XBee Series 1.
My sketch works perfectly when I connect the two Floras directly with
alligator clips, but I have been unable to make it work when I replace
the direct connections with two XBees.
