Bricked Xbee 1

Post by mmoretti »

Hi,

I have a bricked Xbee 1... Unfortunately I tried to use the FTDI friend (through my PC) connected to the Xbee adapter with X-CTU to upgrade my firmware to 10ED. It failed with the error checksum failed, can't write parameters. Now no matter what I do, the thing is bricked. I've looked at Digi's instructions for how to unbrick it but they don't work. Not sure what to do... Can I send it back for a replacement? I will never update firmware again.

Thanks,
-m

You might try posting the question on the Digi Forums: http://forums.digi.com/
The Digi support engineers can probably help you get it working again.

I actually contacted their technical support and nothing they gave me to do worked. I think this thing is really bricked.

Was this XBee purchased at Adafruit? How long have you had it?

I purchased two of these about a week ago, both from Adafruit (Order 243813). Luckily one still works because after getting this one bricked by trying to upgrade the firmware I left the other alone.

Thanks,

Hi,

I emailed support but it's been about 4 days and I haven't heard back.

Thanks.

Hmmm. Try emailing again. I'll check in it from this end.

Thanks. I re-sent the email and also used the contact form. I couldn't really find a good option to choose from the dropdown that would let me send you the details so I chose "Missing item".
