Blanking the display

Post by mike31416 »

Any harm to the display if the blank input to the VFD driver is used to turn off the display with the filaments still on?

nope, should be fine. the max driver has a blanking pin even. but the power usage is all in the filament. you might as well turn the transistor off, thats the easiest way to turn off the display :)

Should I also disable the outputs from the 168 that go to the inputs to the driver since the driver will not be powered?

Thanks for help!
