Ice clock display help

Post by Antizax »

The tens digit in the minutes is mirrored with the ones digit in the seconds. When ever the seconds tick on the minutes increase at the same rate. This makes the clock unusable. Please help.

In the interest of full disclosure, during my build I destroyed the part destined for c10 (104 cap) and replaced it with a 104M cap (.1uF 50V +- 20%.) I hope that isn't causing the problem, don't think it is though. I've gone over and checked for bridged pins and what not, there aren't any. Could there be something wrong with the micro-controller?

Here are a couple quick pics to show you what I mean.

TIA

you probably have a jumpered digits pin, look for a short circuit between two pins on the VFD, or driver socket

Thank you, I missed one. This is my first ever electronics kit, I guessed I haven't quite developed "the eye" for that stuff yet. Thanks for the very quick reply, and sorry for wasting your time.
