IntruderChron: A Monochron hack

Post by dataman »

Well, I think it's a official.
The first firmware hack for the Monochron!

The little guys animated back and forth, left and right.
Nope, nobody shooting at them, or they at anyone quite yet.
Player 1 score is Time, Player 2 score is the Date.
It's a little smaller than original Monochron Time Display,
But I wanted it that way.

Will it really play alien intruders?
No, it won't, not now at least.
Sorry, just not going that deep.
It's just a fun display for when you get sick of Table Tennis.

I'm working through testing right now,
Will be happy to post if I've got some willing betas.

just want to make a note that if you want to 'fork' the monochron firmware, the easiest thing to do is make a (free) github account and fork it from there.

Was very much hoping you'd say that.
Greatly simplifies everything.

Will post my code up to github as a fork.

Just yesterday someone asked me if my clock could play Space Invaders instead of RASTTFT. :)

we suggest you refer to it as "hostile unwanted intergalactic alien visitors who need to be stopped" :)

How about IntruderChron?

Still a work in progress,
But hunting.

I'm making display assumptions that I think aren't supported by the base library.
Appears that the date variables are not updated by the interrupt service routine unless you are in date display mode.
Which for me, being in both date and time mode, doesn't work very well.
So I think I have a bit more hacking to do in the base library.

Current bug list:
1) Date does not update after midnight.
2) Alarm does not work.

Otherwise, it works pretty well.
