Source for IV-18 Tubes?

Post by figgyb »

Putting together one of the great Ice clock sets for by dad and one for myself and want to make sure I am getting the correct tube. I notice on the design site it links to an ebay search for IV-18... is that all there is to it? is IV-18 the part# for that specific type, size, color?

Is this the right one?

How hard are these to handle? Should I pick up an extra one just in case? :)

Thanks!

iv-18 are all the same, (assuming they're selling them honestly) we think with care you shouldnt have any problems but of course if you're experimenting, two is better'n one :)

I'm starting to wonder if someone has restarted an old assembly line for these things, or someone in China has decided to knock them out... they're popping up all over the place, and the prices seem pretty steady... you can get a bundle of 30 on eBay for US$115 at the moment. they're not being remade, everything you see is stock - one thing about state-controlled manufacture is there is either none left or too much :D
