Problems with charger and wiggly plug

Post by joerg_daehn »

Hello all,

up until now I was quite happy with my IceTube Clock but when I wiggle the plug inside the
CUI PJ-202AH power jack the tube darkens and the clock can only be reactivated by un- and replugging. Also the clock (running jsgf's firmware) seems to forget the brightness settings for day and night.

Do I still have some cold soldering spots? I was extra careful and added extra solder to the pins.

Anyone any idea?

Could I run this clock on an AC/DC charger with 500mA/15V? Any longtime damage to be expected?
Thank you,

J. Dähn

if you wiggle the plug, you're basically removing the power. you should just not do this - its resetting the clock :)
you can use a 15V supply but we suggest the one that the clock comes with. 9VDC is better
