Hi
pick place only put component "new" pcb it work this way
1-) put solder past into pcb whit stencil printer ,PCB need to be flat so no component on it
2-) pick place put component at right position on the pcb
3-) reflow oven melt solder past so it solder whole board at once
for start-up i sujest to have only reflow and stencil printer so you put part by hand into the solder past
this was much faster that solder it by hand then once you skilled whit this technique you may buy
pick place for speed up thing
a rework station will remove and replace a component on a already assembled board
but it made for "repair" not for assembly it also very expensive for a good one

whit just a hot air hakko 850 for desoldering and i solder back whit my reflow
even 0.5mm pitch BGA may place by hand whit bit of practice
