Hi

That the DXF ..

if some one duplicate it i may it may good idea to swap material of base plate from aluminium to steel
this may help made treading less delicate

That's interesting and original (at least compared to the stencil printers I have or have used). It's a shame I don't have much equipment for working with metal or I'd make one since I don't have a meaningful double-sided solution and my current stencil holder is difficult to use with anything other than 1.6mm thick PCBs, and I tend to use a lot of 1.0mm PCBs lately for RF.

Thanks for publishing the photos, though. Definately has me thinking. Am I right, though, that this assumes a fixed PCB height? If it's made for 1.6mm, and you insert a 1.0mm PCB the stencil will have a 0.6mm gap between the top of then adjustable plates and the PCB which will probably result in poor paste placement, particularly too much paste around the edges leading to solder bridges, etc.?

HI

i made grove at 30 mil so normal PCB have ~62 mil and most thin have ~32 mil
so normally just the top of PCB touch the stencil ,you need to readjust height of course if you use 30 mil pcb

i also made clam that may used interior or exterior so PCB may put very close to plate end

and i keep 270 mil of clearance for bottom part

as i not a really good machinist myself i send it to a CNC shop
it cost me bit under 500$ including shipping so not to bad
and it work like a charm on my semiautomatic printer ;-)

i will try to add vacuum holder for keep big PCB in place in case it have some twist on it

Alphatronique, what semi-automatic stencil printer do you have? We bought an APS Novastar SPR-45 6 weeks ago and it should be arriving soon. We are excited to get it and hope that our reflow process sees big improvements.

Hi

in the past i have one APS SPR-20 but it find it quite not useful and hard to adjust
and the universal frame also have issue

so i finish to buy a opti-print 1414DP it use framed stencil and it work really nice
whit time i find that the key was a good stencil printer and a reflow
that permit to have great result my 3 zevatech pick place complete my small line

http://www.smtprinters.com/printers/1616pd.html that same printer but 16" instead of 14"

what you see being of printer was my PCB cleaning station
and i add picture of what king of PCB i do here whit that equipmet
