Arduino Breadboard Labels

Post by george_graves »

I own three BoArduino, but I keep semi-permanently installing them in some project or the other - I guess that happens to most people? So here's a little label, you can print out, stick on to a Atmega and it will show you the pin out that match the Arduino standard.

I don't claim to be the first one to think this idea. I think I saw it here first: http://todbot.com/blog/2009/05/23/ardui ... ker-label/

I tried printing it - but the font was a bit too light - and it needed something special. So I made my own from scratch.

I'll just let the photos do the rest of the talking....but before I do, here's the files. PDF, Illustrator. Oh, and a SVG that should work in Inkscape - it's opensource ;)

Right click, save as.

Wow.. Timing couldn't be better. I'm about to solder up my first standalone Arduino integrated into my first real Arduino project. This will cut down on de-soldering and head slapping I'm sure.
Thanks very much from a grateful noob. :D

Edited to include..

The SVG works fine on Inkscape 0.48 on Linux.

These looked great, but when I printed the PDF version and stuck it on, it ended up a bit short by 2mm. :(

Anyone else have the same result?

Make sure that the printer isn't scaling it before it prints - sometimes it will try and help you out my making sure the document fits the printed page - we don't want that in this case.

It will usually be the in the printer dialog settings under "page scaling" or something.

Thanks George. Printed just the right size by choosing to print the current view in the print dialog.

You nailed it George. I switched "page scaling" from "Fit to page" to "none". Fits like a glove.

Thanks!

Great idea! I'm going to see if I can replicate it with a P-Touch labeler.

Hey Folks,

I know I'm late to the party here, but I was thinking about these stickers this afternoon and thought it'd be nice to print them out on my label printer (A Brother QL-550):

Since the sheet George made wasn't ideal, I took the part, trimmed the page, and produced some files more conducive for small label printing. I hope no one will be upset I replaced the adafruit logo with an "Arduino 168/328" for identification (The pinouts for an Arudino on an Atmega 168/328) I had an older Atmega168 that I wanted to use and didn't want to forget sometime in the future that it was a 168 instead of a 328

LBX files are Brother's P-Touch software label document format.

These are PNGs

Anyway, I hope someone finds these useful. George, thanks for making the original.

Here is a version with the AVR pin labels instead of the Arduino ones,
in faster SVG form:

The provided svg ones were really slow for me.

Sometimes I hate the internet! Every one of the links to sticker images on this page are dead, yet the page still lives.

But we do have some pre-made ones available in the store: https://www.adafruit.com/product/554

Hi,

The link to the Brittonkerin svg ones is not working (I've been searching for those lately). I recommend Adafruit AVR Sticker for Breadboard Arduino-compatibles (mentioned by support). I ordered the product item and it will be a pack of ten pieces.
