Is there a Weller solder station that Adafruit would recommend

Hi,

Is there a Weller solder station that Adafruit would recommend? What solder tip is recommended for thru-hole soldering?

Thanks
Mike

Together with a stand it makes a good basic soldering station. The next step up from that would be a temperature-controlled iron like the Hakko-888. Something like that or a Weller WES-51 should last pretty much forever.

Tip style depends somewhat on personal preference. I use Weller ETA or ETH tips for most of my through-hole work.

Thanks.

Is there a tip that you would recommend for the Hakko?

Thanks

I don't have a Hakko, but the T18-D08 and T18-D16 appear to be comparable to the Weller ETH & ETA tips.
