Please tell me the WiFi USB Microscope I bought for $200 is not really the piece of @# it seems to be.
The only instructions shipped with it were on a small disc - which is not usable with a mac or iPad or just about any tablet, unless you buy an external drive.
Once I found a machine that could read it, I found the PDF file with instructions (why cant Adafruit host this to make life easier for customers?)
which says you can attach to it by selecting the WiFi Network HOT and entering a specific numeric URL.... 10.10.1.1:8196
This brings up a 640x480 image that updates at an EXTREMELY low rate.
You have to position and focus using this high latency interface -- which is very hard to do.
I get about 1-2 fps out of this.
Please tell me there is something I am doing wrong - other than buying this.

Re: WiFi Microscope - Really this bad?
hi jerry,
please try to keep the tone polite here as we assist you we've not had a chance to post the PDF on the included disk yet but will soon.
here we are showing it live on ask an engineer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... lIGY#t=91s
are you able to get it up and running in the same way? is your set up any different?
please read the product page about the specs, did you review them *before* you purchased? it clearly states it's 640 x 480 - it's a wifi scope there are going to be tradeoffs with resolution.
http://www.adafruit.com/products/1276
Image Sensor: (640x480) 0.3 megapixel @ 30 FPS
Up to 200x axis micro-lens
Adjustable focal length, from 5mm to 40mm
Resolution 640x480 or 320x240
as always, feel free to send it back for refund if you'd like.
thanks,
adafruit support, phil
