Will 120V Input tools work if plugged into 110V?

Post by knowsnofruit »

I live in a country where the mains electricity is 220V 60Hz.
I plan on getting some tools from the US that have an input of 120V.
I plan on using a 220v - 110v transformer as this the common transformer that can be bought in my country.
I could not find 220-120V transformers.

My question is, will the tools that I buy that are meant to work with 120V work with 110V?
For example, the Hakko 888D soldering station has an input of 120V if bought from Adafruit.
Will it work properly if I plug it into 110V?

Thank you very much for any help. :D

Household mains voltage in the US varies between 110/220v and 120/240v. 120v tools work just fine on 110v.

Oh alright. Thank you very much for that informative reply. I was just worried that my 110V outlet would not be enough to power 120V tools like heating up the Hakko 888D.

Thank you again! :D

I have heard that Dancap in the UK has them. There are also some eBay sellers - just beware of counterfeits.
