I wanted to buy this microscope, but I don't understand if this outputs MPEG4 or JPEG stream. I want to use it with max/msp/jitter (see: http://cycling74.com/forums/topic/maxms ... p-cameras/)
And another question. By saying it creates its own Access Point, does that mean i can not connect to it via a router? Do I have to connect to it directly only?
Thank you very much,
ygr

Re: WiFi Portable Microscope: Types of video stream and WiFi problem
I don't think we have a datasheet for that device, so I can't do anything more than guess about the answers to those questions.
I won't even try to guess about the image compression because there are too many arguments to use either MPEG, JPEG, or both.
I doubt that you'd be able to connect the device to a larger network. That would require more firmware than a simple peer-to-peer connection, and you don't hide features that raise the cost of the product.
