USB Microscope and LabView compatibility?

Post by chrisdh1102 »

I'm interested in using this microscope for a machine vision application in LabVIEW: https://www.adafruit.com/products/636

Is this camera DirectShow compliant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectShow)? Apparently, any USB camera using this imaging standard will work with LabVIEW. Has anyone tried this before?

I'm afraid we don't have any in-house expertise with LabView. It's found more in professional/industrial settings than in DIY/hobbyist workshops. We'll have to see if anyone in the community has tried that particular device in a LabView installation.

After looking into it a bit, I think I'm going to try out openCV instead of LabVIEW. It should be a lot better for my application. Thanks for your help anyway!
