Desktop Multimeter; worth purchasing for Workbench?

Post by osfreak »

I've been thinking about this question in my head for the last month because I am building my own custom workbench during the little free-time I have between work & school. I am going to buy a handheld multimeter better than the inexpensive one I purchased from Harbor Freight because I was in a bind, but I was wondering if it is worth buying a desktop multimeter for the workbench or just leave it with the handheld?

That depends on what other bench equipment you have already. If you are just getting started, I'd stick with the handheld for now and put the extra money toward getting an oscilloscope.
