homemade thermometer materials

Hi everyone!

Im looking for what parts needed to make thermometer which can reach 300 celcius.

can someone help me what parts i need to purchase to make thermometer with a probe ?

More generally, you'll need one of two devices:

1) A thermistor: a resistor whose properties change in a predictable way relative to temperature.

2) A thermocouple: a junction between two metals with different electronegativities that generates current in a predictable way when exposed to heat.

There are other ways to sense heat, but those are the most common.
