After installing both the drivers and the software, the microscope cannot be found by the software. Looking at the Device Manager I found that the name of the microscope has changed and there is Japanese writing in the title (see attached image). I have installed this on 2 different machines, both with Windows 7, 64bit with the same results. The software has found the microscope 2 times (I assume) because it didn't ask to plug in the microscope but the image is grey.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: USB MicroView Microscope #636 Does Not Work
Greetings Adafruit,
I have a MicroView Microscope #636 that will not zoom on an almost completely flat part, and I have to zoom at 230, or so, but when measuring, the Preview does not go up to 230, only 220 for measuring. Also, when I try to move the microscope farther away for an encompassing view, I need to be around 40 for measuring, and when I do that, the measuring seems to be cut in half. For example, the measurement should be around 12mm, but the software is showing around 6mm. What is the problem? I am putting the microscope on a couple of notebooks to raise it up, but that shouldn't effect anything, yes? Anyway, what is the problem? Thanks in advance.
Ed

What software are you using for measuring?
