Hi, I'm trying to connect my recently purchased Ultimate GPS Breakout - 66 channel w/10 Hz updates - MTK3339 chipset to the internal serial port on a Kobo mini eink reader. its to let me run a program called XCSoar, http://max.kellermann.name/projects/xcsoar/kobo.html
I've wired it up using TX to RX & RX to TX, plus Vin & GND.
and set it up at 9600 baud
the GPS seems to have got a fix (flash once every 15 sec), but the kobo say GPS not connected, however when I monitor the port I see an NMEA data stream.
have I done something daft ? i.e.does the TX need to go to TX on Kobo (& RX to RX?)

Re: connecting ultimate GPS to Kobo mini intenal serial port
working now, My fault just needed generic to set output to generic on kobo.
BUT now new issue, Lat Long are great (comparable to NOOK with USB GPS dongle) but altitude is way out.
typical scenario good fix (12 sats)
good lt long & alt
start moving, alt drifts ever futher out )I've seen 800 feet out),
stop alt fix improves back to normal ............. sometimes
Whats happening?
NOOK with USB GPS stayed accurate, when placed side by side
