7A DC power plug?

Post by thiagoennes »

Hi!
I am building a project with 108 WS2812B neopixels, and I found my through hole dc plug to be a bottleneck in my design. All dc plugs i found are rated 1A max, and my project will pull around 6.5A...
I figure there must be a 10A rated DC plug, since i am using a 5v10A power supply and it uses a common dc jack. I don't want to modify the power supply output.
Any thoughts? suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

They do exist. Some of the larger high-performance notebooks use 9-10A power supplies with DC barrel plugs. We do not carry one with that high a rating, but you should be able to find one at one of the major suppliers such as Mouser or DigiKey.

Thank you very much!
I actually just found one at digikey, they don't list them by power rating so it took me a while.

Thanks again!
