i want to power the 5 inch no touch display with mini driver connected to a rpi(model B) with hdmi by a power boost 500+charger. I wish to use a 3.7V 6600mah lithium ion battery pack. How would i power both the devices? Will it work if i splice the cable and connect it to the respective ports? and do i need to power the pi by usb or by gpio?
if by gpio, then which pins? thanks in advance
powerboost 500c + 5 inch display + rpi

You can certainly power the display from the PowerBoost 500 + Charger., but I don't think you can get enough power from your battery to power both the Pi and the display. You should use USB to power the Pi.

Re: powerboost 500c + 5 inch display + rpi
the problem is that the Pi needs about 1A to operate, and the display needs another 500mA. That's why you need a separate power source for the display.
The PowerBoost 500 can put out up to 1A from a LiPo battery, so there's just not enough power there for both the Pi and the display.
The USB ports on the pi can only put out out a max of 170mA, so even if you put 1.5A into the Pi, you still can't run the display from those.

i want to know how i can charge both batteries attached to two powerboost 500c using a single usb port. i wish to put them in a custom case for portability. charging one device with two cables is a bit weird

You can try making your own cable. That could work.
