Which power supply?

Hi all,

have a quick question, I plan to add the adalight to my plasma tv, but I need about 4 strings of leds, so which power supply do I need for that? Would this one do? http://www.adafruit.com/products/658

Guessing you're talking about the 5V that come with the Adalight project pack...

The 5V/10A supply can drive up to about 160 of those LEDs (it says it on the page for the LEDs), and you're only using 100 if you have 4 strands (that's one huge tv o_O) so you should be safe there. Any more and you'd want to bump up to an ATX power supply or something similar. Keep in mind you might need to inject the power source in the middle towards both ends like they did for the Adavision project. I made a 10x10 LED wall out of the larger pixels and powered each strand with its own lead and it works great. Good luck!
