I recently purchased a RCB LCD as part of a I2C/SPI shield and also the I2C/SPI backpack.
Is there any reason why female headers soldered to the backpack / shield allowing the use of other LCD's or to move the LCD to another application like say a serial backpack would be unadvisable?, your thoughts - JDH

You will end up with a somewhat higher overall stack-height, but other than that there should be no problem at all.
