ST7565 LCDs bleeding

Post by steve_n »

Hello,

I have two ST7565s, one each of both the positive and negative displays. They both exhibit this very unsightly "bleeding" when I draw a few things towards the right side of the screen. See how the right side of the screen gets dark? The inverted LCD does the exact opposite. The more things are drawn towards on right, the worse it gets.

It looks really bad. And it's the exact same problem on both screens. Is this normal? Is it possible I'm not powering something correctly or there's some other nuance to these things I'm missing? I'm generally pretty good at debugging but the science of these LCD screens is new to me, so I'm not sure what causes problems like this.

I was hoping to use these for various projects requiring graphic displays, but I really can't if they look half-broken or damaged half the time while doing seemingly normal things...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve
