I recently purchased a 2.8" TFT Touch Shield for Arduino - 2.8" (ID 376) from your website and found the device to be defective. The order number was 248642. The device was connected to an Arduino UNO and the “tftpaint_shield” program was uploaded on to it for testing. The program worked for a short period of time (less than 1 hour) then it started to become unresponsive. The Arduino was restarted and the code reuploaded but with no success. Sometimes, the paint program would draw but there will be offset and draw a location a certain distance from where the screen was touched.
To troubleshoot, the “touchscreendemoshield” program was uploaded and the serial output monitored. Sometimes, touch inputs would not register, other times, the location is completely wrong. In all testing, the X feedback is always 1023, no matter which location is pressed. I’ve attached a short list of the outputs below.
X = 1023 Y = 561 Pressure = 39
X = 1023 Y = 571 Pressure = 28
X = 1023 Y = 626 Pressure = 24
X = 1023 Y = 685 Pressure = 59
X = 1023 Y = 641 Pressure = 41
X = 1023 Y = 609 Pressure = 40
X = 1023 Y = 627 Pressure = 49
X = 1023 Y = 771 Pressure = 37
X = 1023 Y = 604 Pressure = 53
X = 1023 Y = 653 Pressure = 52

Re: Defective 2.8'' TFT Touch Shield
Sounds like the touchscreen flex-connector may be damaged. Look for where the flex-connector wraps around the edge of the display to connect to the circuit board for signs of damage.

Re: Defective 2.8'' TFT Touch Shield
There doesn't appear to be any obvious damage. One ribbon has a small mark on it. I've attached a picture of it below.
As I mentioned in my initial email to you guys, this part is time critical to our project. It would be greatly appreciated if we can get a replacement sent ASAP.
