Digital RGB LEDs #306

Post by chinablue »

I just purchased 4M of #306 digital RGB LEDs. I tested them with the basic test pattern provided by Adafruit. I get random lights to go on very very slowly but no pattern. I have a 1M strip that I tested on the Arduino with the same program and they work fine so I can conclude it is not the program or the Arduino. In looking at the strip there are bends in it that I had to straighten out, some areas look corroded and the wiring pattern is the opposite to the first batch I purchased. I am suspicious it is a bad strip. Support asked that I pose this on the forum. What are your thoughts?

Thank you.

Could you post a photo of the areas that look corroded please? If there's damage we'll certainly replace them.

I'm not sure what that is, but if you have three strips that work and one that doesn't, it's a hardware problem.

Send a note to [email protected] with a link to this thread and we'll get you another strip.

I apologize for the reply message not getting through to you.. I'll mention that to the web team.

Mike:

Thanks, I will send a note to support with the link.

Don't worry about the reply message not getting through. I suspect it might have been human error (chagrin).
