I am replacing the button and the LED on the Adafruit TV-B-Gone with the Large Arcade Button with LED - 60mm Blue.
My problem is that the LED isn't that bright. I am running the TV-B-Gone off of 3 C cells, and I replaced the LED resistor on the board with a wire (with that, the LED is now visible). I don't think there is anything more I can do to jack up the power on that end.
I saw on the forum how I can disassemble the dome, but I don't see any easy way to get the LED out (I can see the resistor in the switch assembly, I just can't reach it through the tube).
Any ideas?

Can you post a picture?
Have you tried to use tweezers or needle-nose pliers to get them out?

Yes, I figured it out. It looks like the white tube just pulls out -- it is in a socket like those little Christmas lights. I was then able to unwrap the wire and get the resistor and LED out. I'll solder a lower value one in.
